Zikalala hopes move to Level 2 will help recover R30bn loss
KwaZulu-Natal remains a COVID-19 hotspot, as the virus reaches its peak, according to Premier Sihle Zikalala.
Zikalala presented the latest coronavirus developments in the province on Sunday.
He says data shows that there's been a decline in the number of new cases reported daily since the beginning of August.
Welcoming to move to alert Level 2 of the lockdown, Zikalala says this is not the time for people to let their guard down.

"This transition to level 2 should, however, not make us complaisant and think that the risk posed by coronavirus is not more.
"This is a deadly virus. Everyone must adhere to all requirements. As the province, we will still act very tough on those who are violating the regulations."
He says the further relaxing of regulations of businesses under Level 2, will help boost efforts towards economic recovery.
"As a province that relies heavily on tourism for job creation and sustainability. Our economy has contracted by at least R30 billion due to the economic lockdown.
"The opening up of the economy is indeed great news because it means more businesses will now have the opportunity to contribute in saving jobs and prevent the disaster that has befallen those who were forced to close down their operation."
