Call for COVID-19 training in healthcare sector as infections spike
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (NEHAWU) says healthcare workers need more training around COVID-19.

This as infection rates among the frontline workers continue to spike in three province's healthcare centres.
On Sunday, KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu said a total of 478 healthcare workers have tested positive for COVID-19.

NEHAWU'S Ayanda Zulu says health workers need to be more cautious of their conduct while on and off duty.
"There is no adequate education training of workers around COVID-19, including the usage of PPE. So we have said the department mus intensify education and training for workers as a critical pillar in the fight against COVID-19.
"Secondly, we are extremely worried about the quality of PPEs being distributed to workers which we think might have an impact."
