104 KZN schools to remain shut

While most schools in KwaZulu-Natal have reopened their doors to pupils on Monday, 104 will remain shut.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Sihle Zikalala says these schools are still waiting for their personal protective equipment (PPEs) to arrive.
He says KZN Education is trying to get PPEs to these schools as soon as possible.
"The department has procured the PPEs and other essentials for the next six months."

Meanwhile, schools vandalised and damaged by storms during Level 4 and 5 of the lockdown have been equipped with mobile classrooms.
"Three of these schools were vandalised during the national lockdown period, and seven were damaged by storms.
"The number of mobile classrooms that are provided so far are twenty. All the contractors complied and completed the installation of these mobile classrooms."
