Bizarre predictions on the US presidential elections
Updated | By Latashia Naidoo
In a few hours, America will have a new president. As the world awaits the results of the most hotly-contested (and nastiest) battle for the White House in US history, we take a look at some of the most bizarre election indicators.
So will the elections see Hillary Clinton's return to the White House, or will Donald Trump reign supreme? These are some of the predictions:
ANIMAL PROPHECIES:
A “psychic” billy goat from Scotland named Boots has predicted that Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, will be elected as president.
His method of prophecy: choosing a piece of paper that had Clinton’s name on it - thus predicting her victory.
According to a Scottish newspaper, Boots correctly predicted the result of the Brexit vote this year.
No doubt this wordless weigh-in from the world's only fortune-telling goat is enough of an endorsement for Clinton-supporters the world over to remain confident of her chances.
A “mystical” Chinese monkey named Geda - known as China's "Monkey King" - has decreed that Republican nominee Donald Trump will win the election.
Local legend has pegged the monkey as having prophetic insight — as he boasts a record of correctly predicting the winners of European football matches.
This time around, he chose Trump as the winner of the US election - by choosing a banana near a cardboard cutout of the presidential candidate. He even planted a kiss on cardboard cut-out of Trump, no doubt to congratulate him on his impending win?
CUPS:
A shop owner in the New York suburb of East Hampton, New York has correctly predicted presidential winners since 2004.
Valerie Smith has been selling plastic cups with the faces of presidential candidates printed on them. By measuring how many cups (of each candidate) are sold, Smith has for the past three presidential elections been able to determine who the next president will be.
So far, Clinton is in the lead with almost 5000 cups sold, compared to Trump's nearly 3400 cups.

The popular 7-Eleven stores across the US have since 2000 sold red and blue coffee cups featuring the faces of each nominee - for patrons to show their support for their presidential candidates.
Currently, Clinton leads the 2016 presidential race by two percentage points - according to 7-Eleven 7-11 coffee drinkers. So far, cup sales have been right every time.
BIOLOGICAL FACTORS:
Forget effective campaigning, revolutionary reforms or policies. According to statistics, the eventual president is ultimately the taller candidate (in 67% of all presidential elections in the US, the taller person has won.)
Trump currently stands heads and shoulders above his rival - at 1.9m to Clinton's 1.6m.
Meanwhile, a University of Miami professor, Casey Klofstad, claims that American's are more likely to vote for the candidate with a deeper voice.
We're not sure how effective these measures fare in the current presidential race; it's the first time a male and female candidate have contested the elections.
But that's two for two for Trump.
