Google unveils 2016’s most searched for songs

Did Taylor Swift, Adele, or Beyoncé rule supreme on 2016’s most Googled music list?

Google has released its annual ‘Year in Search’ lists, and its music list reveals which musician got people talking the most in 2016.

Top artists like Taylor Swift, Adele, and Beyoncé had a big year, but only one topped the music artist search list.

Queen B was revealed as the most searched artist this year. The singer released her top selling ‘Lemonade’ album in 2016, and went on yet another epic tour.

Celine Dion came in second with Kesha, Kehlani, and Coldplay rounding up the top five.

Beyoncé also came out tops in the most googled song of 2016 thanks to her controversial single ‘Formation’.

Prince’s 1984 single ‘Purple Rain’ took the number two spot. Interest for the award-winning track soared following his death in April.

Other songs getting a mention in the top ten include Adele’s ‘Hello’ and ‘One Dance’ by rapper Drake.
