Skip coffee if you’re feeling grumpy
Updated | By Anisa

Hydration helps improve your mood, says our resident fitness expert, Lisa Raleigh. So if you’re feeling grumpy and sluggish, skip the coffee…
Instead, reach for water. Recent research shows that even slight dehydration can have a negative impact on your demeanour.
If you’re on a strict eating plan but are battling with food cravings, hit the gym. When you exercise, your brain gets a natural boost of endorphins, creating a high similar to the one experienced from eating fatty and sugar-laden foods.
If you struggle with knee pain, it’s time to get fit. Your thighs are like your knees’ personal shock absorbers, so focus on strengthening your hamstrings and quadriceps. This will help prevent knee injuries and having stronger thigh muscles will also cut your chances of getting osteoporosis in your knees by up to 30%.
Essential oils can help you sleep. The scent of lavender is particularly effective when you’re trying to snooze, so try a linen spray or a few drops of lavender oil under your pillow before bed.
If you want results, don’t coast on your cardio. Instead of the same moderate-intensity routine, mix in some high-intensity intervals twice a week. Bursts of 1-minute sprints followed by 3-minute recoveries will improve your fitness and therefore your results.
