Skinny jeans are one of those trends that just won’t say die! And don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining – I love them!

But sadly there are many women who are too scared to venture into Skinny Jean-ville. I believe that this is because they are scared but more importantly are not sure how to adopt the trend without looking silly.

Today I am going to give you a few tips I think will help you with your skinny jean dilemmas!

How to pick the perfect pair of skinny jeans for you:

The stretch factor:
Opt for a pair with spandex. This will make your skinny jeans more comfortable to wear.

Colour:
Always remember that bright colours and loud patterns attract attention to your legs. So if you want to make your thighs look slimmer, opt for darker wash denim – it has the same slimming effect as black.

What about rise?
High rise vs low rise is oh so important when purchasing a pair of denims. I am no fan of seeing “plumber’s crack” or anyone’s underwear, so this is really important in my opinion. My #1 tip here is Try Before You Buy. Don’t be shy to go into that changing room and try out a range of jeans. Try squatting, sitting and bending to see if they’re the right fit. They shouldn’t be too tight and they definitely shouldn’t be half way down your butt when you bend over.

Styling your skinny jeans:

A light wash denim is considered casual denim, so if you’re off to the mall or a lunch date, this is for you. Pair your light wash skinny with a pair of pretty sandals and a tunic style top and you are ready to go!

A blazer is the perfect way to dress up any look. Add the dark wash skinny jeans and the absolutely hot heels and you are as chic as can be. This look is great for an evening out with friends.

I love the colourful skinny jean. The trick when wearing them is to make sure that you don’t have too many colours going on. Let the focus be the colour of the jean.  You can dress it up or down depending on the occasion.

I hope this was helpful to you all.
