Addiction ruins families, not individuals

Talk show host and reality TV star, Sharon Osbourne, has revealed that her husband Ozzy has been battling addiction for the past 18 months.

She has also denied reports that she has moved out of their home and has filed for divorce.

“Everything that was printed in the tabloids has been distorted,” Sharon said on yesterday’s edition of the CBS daytime program. “The only thing that’s true was the Facebook posting that my husband did...where he said he’s been using alcohol and prescription drugs for the last year and a half...and that he has been in a very dark place. That’s true. It’s very true.”

Osbourne told The Talk audience that she was unaware of Ozzy’s prescription drug use, adding, “I knew he was drinking occasionally, but I didn’t realize to the extent.”

On his Facebook page earlier this month, the 64-year-old rocker, who's struggled with drug and alcohol abuse in the past, told fans, “I am happy to say that I am 44 days sober.”

Echoing her husband of 30 years, who denied on Facebook that they were splitting up, Sharon Osbourne, 60, said, “We’re not getting divorced.”

“However, am I happy? No. Am I upset? Yes I am — I’m devastated right now,” she added.

“We’ve dealt with worse and we will deal with it and this too shall pass,” Osbourne said, blinking back tears, before adding with her characteristic humor, “Otherwise my husband will be taken to the hospital to get my foot removed from his a**.”
