What's on in Durban this weekend

THURSDAY
BiancaKim Clothing POP-UP Shop
This Thursday night BiancaKim Clothing are having their famous mid-year sale. The first 30 customers get free tees and every year it’s my favourite POP-UP bargain sale. Get yourself down to Taco Zulu in Florida Road. Buy a few well-priced gems, then maybe treat yourself to one of their extreme pizzas or sushi. Sale runs from 6pm-9pm.
FRIDAY
Mimi in KZN
Jazz vocalist, composer and lyricist, Mimi, comes to KZN for a three-concert tour to kick off women’s month. She's performing at the KZNSA Gallery in Durban, Tatham Art Gallery in PMB and Rainbow Restaurant in Pinetown this weekend. Mimi has shared stages with the likes of Sibongile Khumalo, Judith Sephuma, Jimmy Dlulu and Lauryn Hill. Don't miss her KZN visit!
SATURDAY
Horizon Beach Festival
We’ve all witnessed the Blue Lagoon Upgrade and it’s now ready to roll. The weather for Saturday is looking PERFECT so don't miss the chance to spend the day at one of the best beach events that Durban has to offer. The Horizon Beach Festival kicks off at 12pm, with an official after party at Absolute in Florida Road. All you need is your Horizon beach band to get in. Bring out your sandals, bikinis and rocking bods to enjoy DJs Lefty, Mark Dekoda and Croatia Squad as they tear Durban apart.
Check out their Facebook page for sound samplers here.
I Heart Market
The August I Heart Market is on this Saturday from 9am until around 2pm. You know the drill; the best of Durban’s creatives, artisans, foodies and designers show off their goods under our most sexy piece of Durban architecture, The Moses Mabhida Stadium. I’ve never left without a collection of treasures - and so can you.
The Kiffness at LIVE the Venue
Cape Town-based electronic duo, The Kiffness, are set to rock LIVE on Saturday night. The Kiffness is fast becoming one of the country's favourite live electronic acts. Supported by local group, the Nutscratchers, this is definitely not one to miss. R60 gets you in, doors open at 8pm.
It’s hard to say goodbye @ The Winston
So they’re not; they’re throwing a massive party instead! If you’re a Winston local you’ll all know our little Sweet Lu. Well, not so long ago he became a daddy and is leaving ‘the warmest place to be’ to go be a Daddy all the way over in the UK. So come out and say your farewells. They are pretty serious about this farewell and will be saying welcome back for one night only to the one and only Sibling Rivalry! Squeal are also showing their faces so its going to be a goodie. Doors open at 6pm. R30 before 8pm, R50 afterwards. First band at 8.30pm.
The Morning Trade Launch
Now this is exciting. Every Sunday from 9am-2pm the Morning Trade will be your source of farm fresh ingredients and artisan goods. This Sunday is the big launch! All the details here.
