What's on in Durban this weekend
Updated | By Staff Writer
It's a busy weekend ahead in Durban. Here's our pick of where to be and what to do.
FRIDAY
Beer and Bike
Duke and Duchess Motorcycles in Umhlanga will be hosting their first beer and bike night of 2014. There’s nothing like sweet rides and a rich leather aroma to kick-start the weekend. There’s talk of legendary peri-peri chicken burgers, beer (of course), bikes (duh) and tequila (for the win). Starts at 6pm and if you need directions check out the event here.
Funky Mexican
Keep the tequila flowing and head to Skyybar for their Mexican party. Tequilla shots are R10 all night with the promise of hot, hot beats. Grab an amigo, slap on some Mexican inspired attire and you’ll get in for free.
Student night @ Tokio
Students say bye-bye to fun in the sun and hello to lecture halls and attendance records. Don’t worry though, the boys at Tokio Nightclub have arranged the ultimate send off with Durban’s ultimate and loudest student night. Flash your student card and you’re in like Flynn.
SATURDAY
I Heart Market
Durban’s favourite market gets underway from 9am-3pm at Moses Mabhida stadium this Saturday. You know the drill; friends, crafts, good food, local is lekker.
Come Back Kid Tour
The Canadian hardcore punksters are touring SA and will be in Durban at LIVE this weekend. Tickets are on sale at Computicket so book yours now to avoid the ‘no ticket tantrum’. Get excited and watch their latest video here:
For more event details check out the event on Facebook.
7 Deadly Sins @ The Sneddon
Join Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert as they investigate the underlying challenges of being human. 7 Deadly Sins is a hilarious, wicked musical comedy. Tickets are R80 and the show runs through until March. Book your tickets here.
Kelta at Cliffys
If you're in Pietermaritzburg, catch Kelta at Cliffys from 7pm. There's no cover charge.
Bands at the Beach Cabin Pub
Mother Nature's Son performs at The Beach Cabin Pub, MOTH Shellhole, in Warner Beach from 2pm. There's a guest appearance by Dulcie and Billie from Amethyst. Entry is free.
SUNDAY
Bulwer Market
Looks like there might be a bit of rain on Sunday so put on some boots and take an umbrella to the Bulwer Market in Glenwood. The market starts at 9am and packs up around 3pm. There’s always loads of things to keep the kiddies occupied with good food and good vibes.
WEDNESDAY
Comedy @ Amsterdam
Amsterdam Bar hosts the Dirty Rotten Comedy Show on Wednesday. It's the show where anything goes! Comics get a chance to use material that they probably shouldn't...
