Durban actor, Rowan Bartlett, who features in the Adult Panto Romeo and Juliet - an East Coast Story, which plays at The Zone Suncoast Casino until 31 December, is a proudly South African traveller.

He loves nothing more than driving off to the Drakensberg - one of the most scenic destinations in the country. His fondest memory is of his stay at Bushman’s Nek Berg and Trout Resort, in the Southern Berg.

“My love for nature is what takes me back time and again to this tranquil setting. I love just being at one with nature and animals. Here I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to feed a baby lamb. Priceless,” he said.

Illa Thompson, Durban columnist and owner of Publicity Matters, loves Scotland.

“One of my most wonderful  holidays was to Edinburgh, Scotland, to go to the remarkable Edinburgh Arts Festival and world famous Tattoo a few years ago. I totally loved exploring the ancient historical buildings and old parts of town. Here in my picture, I am about to be entertained by actors staging a re-enactment in old castle ruins – a fun way to spend a warm Scottish afternoon.”

KickstArt  Theatre's  set designer and actor, Greg King, has been keeping very busy with KickstArt’s annual fun-filled family romp: a brand new pantomime version of Jack and the Beanstalk which is on at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre until 5 January 2014. His fondest memory is from a research trip to Disneyland, Florida, in 2011.

“Nothing can compare to this magical visit to Disneyland. What a great place for a pantomime designer to get inspiration! To be able to experience the magical settings, see the actual costumes, dancers, shows, was the best time of my life! Can’t wait to do it all over again.”

Durban Publicist, Sophie Thompson, is a jet-setter – having recently travelled to Russia, Australia and Finland.

“My greatest memory from my recent trip is to the snow-covered Finland. I had the wonderful experience of sleeping in an ice hotel or snow castle in the midst of winter, 15km away from the Swedish border in a small village called Kemi in Lapland, Finland.

“The hotel is built alongside the Bothnian Bay and when the season is over, the town breaks up the ice and throws it back into the water. Inside, the room temperature is a constant -5 degrees Celsius while the temperatures can reach -40 degrees Celsius. I loved just experiencing such a mystical but cold holiday, which took me a while to defrost from!”

Celebrity magician, Mo Magic, took a much needed break from his busy performing schedule with a few days off in beautiful Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in November.

He is pictured on the Sky Bridge at the world famous Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. The bridge is located on level 41 of the building, 170m above ground and links both towers. The iconic sky scraper stands at 452m and features an observation deck on level 86, 370m above ground.

“Nothing compares to the most amazing view that exists from this point, breath-taking,” he said.

It was Mo's first time in Malaysia and he describes Kuala Lumpur as similar to Durban in that both cities are cultural melting pots.
