Have you been to the I Heart Market?

The I Heart Market is a gathering ground for food lovers, hipsters, crafters, fashionistas and just about anyone looking to enjoy their Saturday in Durban. Our style guru Brett tells us why we shouldn't miss it.

The I Heart Market is one of those gatherings where you find people of all ages and backgrounds, all there to enjoy the Durban sun rays and cool vibes.

This cool market can be found at the glorious Moses Mabhida Stadium on the first Saturday of every month. Yes, every month!

I go to this market for the fashion. You can find loads of vintage stalls and up-and-coming designers too. Guard The Vintage is a great vintage stall. I generally stalk their Twitter account, where they sneak peek what you can see at the market. They stock vintage leather bags and great fashion pieces too.

Another vintage stop is The Thrift Collection. The designers I look forward to seeing each market day are Bianca Kim Clothing, and Smooch. I always find such cute, fun, edgy pieces from them.

There is something for everyone’s fashion needs at the I Heart Market. Even kiddies. I buy my niece clothes whenever I go.

Fill The Gap is a great stall where you can buy hangers that help you keep your scarves, belts and ties organised. And while we’re on organising, you have to check out Tehillah Frames for beautifully crafted frames that have been crafted into jewellery holders.

Now when it comes to food, again, there is something for everyone’s taste. My first stop is always the lemonade stand. Can you say yummy!? Next up it’s macaroons and cupcakes. If you’re looking for something to take home with you, Bella Jo Gourmet Pasta is it! My favourite is the Squid Ink Tagliatelle.

Another thing I always look forward to at the market is all the home décor stalls. You can find everything from handmade wooden clocks, to quirky furniture pieces.

There are so many more stalls I can tell you about, but I suggest you go to the I Heart Market this weekend to see for yourself. Take the kids or go with a friend – either way I promise you will have a great time!

The market happens this Saturday (4 May) at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Like the market on Facebook here

*Due to the strong winds predicted, the market will be on the north side of Moses Mabhida Stadium, opposite Nino's.

Enjoy!
