After a quiet weekend last week in Durban you’ll be pleased to know that we’re back in the game.

Matric students are ready to rage and seeing as though it’s pay day weekend we might as well rage alongside with ‘em. Between live music, charity exhibitions and moonlight markets this weekend is going to be a goodie.

THURSDAY:

Ciroc Thursday @ Boulevard
If you are feeling like you need to get your party started take a trip to the world of Ciroc Vodka @ Boulevard in Florida Road. The jet-set single mingle with the stylish folk and the deal is hip hop and R&B downstairs, House music upstairs. DJ Switch is in town to make sure this phuza Thursday is a night to remember. Tickets are 80, for more deets check out their Facebook Page

Desmond and The Tutu’s @ LIVE
I’m super duper excited to see these boys play at LIVE. I saw them last year, also at LIVE, actually, and they were fantastic! They are like a perfect mix of rock 'n roll, indie and Mzanzi groove. The doors open at 8pm which means they will only play around 9pm-10pm so take a Red Bull to work in the morning. The damage is R70 but I do have four tickets to give away so mail me quick to get yours. More details about the band here

Apocolypse MEOW
The Upstairs always throw super cool art parties but this event is extra cool because all the proceeds go to charity. In a celebration of all things cat, some of Durban's finest artists have put together a collection that will make you purr.

FRIDAY:

Litchi Party
You know school is out when the renowned Litchi Party hits Ballito. Matrics will be letting their hair down and celebrating their new found freedom this Friday at the Sound Factory. New School Productions have brought out all the stops with an international DJ line up. As of this morning over 1000 peeps have clicked ‘attending’ on their Facebook Page so it's set to be a banger. You can book your tickets at Computicket or visit www.litchiparty.co.za for the full run down. Doors open at 12pm.

Market @ The Square
If the thought of over 1000 matriculants raging into the night sends shivers up your spine then stay far away from Ballito and hit the moonlight market at the Square in Umhlanga. Live music, delicious food, crafts, home décor; it’s the perfect way to ease into your Christmas shopping list.

SATURDAY:

Laurie Levine and Josie Field
Laurie Levine and Josie Field bring their collaboration to KZN for one night only. The Side By Side Tour will be at Open Strings in Kloof. They have brand new compositions of each of their songs made especially for  this tour, including differnet instruments like the ukulele and banjo. It will be an intimate evening with these two SAMA nominated singer/songwriters.

Lady and the Punk Birthday sale
Yup, you heard me. Sales around the festive season are usually unheard of but the lovely lasses at Lady and The Punk in Gateway would like to say merry Christmas by holding a one-day sale. Nothing is over R100. Starts at 9am, while stocks last.

SUNDAY:

Bulwer Market
The first Bulwer market of December is the ideal way to wind up a weekend. Bulwer Park plays host to local creatives and there’s something for everyone. Kids' activities, great food and hopefully nice weather. All the info here
