It’s a big week for bikers in KZN: the annual Harley-Davidson Africa Bike Week gets underway in Margate today.

It’s the fifth instalment of the country’s largest free motorcycle rally, and it’s a special year because it marks the Harley-Davidson 110 year anniversary.

The rally runs from today until Monday and offers an official Harley-Davidson exhibition, live bands, a ride-in bike show, VIP lounges and bars, non-stop street parties, a riders’ academy and ‘learn to ride’ introduction course as well as a mass ride-out, which this year will include a parade of flags.

The great-grandson of Harley-Davidson founder (pictured below) is also set to visit the show.

“I am looking forward to Africa Bike Week and joining our fans in South Africa in celebrating Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary. It’s always a pleasure to meet, speak with and ride alongside Harley-Davidson enthusiasts,” said William J. “Bill” Davidson.
