Car stolen from Durban mall found
Shaun’s vehicle was stolen on Sunday at around 1pm from the undercover parking at Gateway – E5 entrance where the gym is.
It’s a blue 2007 VW Polo hatch and it was on the P1 level. Shaun had his ticket on him, went to pay for the parking and got a nasty shock when he arrived at the spot his car had been. The vehicle had a tracker and was later located in Umlazi. It had been badly damaged and there were signs of forced entry. He’s opened a case with Durban North SAP.
Call to help reduce stock theft
The National Stock Theft Forum is concerned by the substantial impact of stock theft on the economy. Latest stats aren’t yet out but in the 2013/14 period livestock theft stripped the economy of R509 million. It’s urging community members to please like their page on Facebook to widen the net – the page is Livestock Theft Prevention Forum. It’s also appealed to livestock owners to register a unique brand mark in their name and to apply it to all livestock in their possession in the prescribed manner as described in the Animal Identification Act. The Forum’s also called on all livestock buyers, auctioneers, feedlots and abattoirs to confirm livestock ownership and refuse to take ownership of livestock that are not marked or where the necessary ‘Document of Identification’ and ‘Stock Removal Certificate’ are not supplied.

Community event in Durban North
Finally, There’s an emergency Services Awareness day this Saturday from 10am at the Crusaders Sports Club in Durban North. It’s being organized by The Law Enforcement Foundation – a non-profit formed to aid in the reduction of crime in our community (particularly north Durban). There’ll be action displays by various police units; fun for the kids; flea market and food stalls and Johann von Bargen will be the MC.
