LISTEN: SONA 2017: KZN has its say

With just a day to go before the 2017 State of the Nation Address, East Coasters have weighed in on what they feel needs to be discussed in the President's much-anticipated speech.

President Jacob Zuma is set to make his address to the nation at 7pm tomorrow, live from the chambers of the National Assembly in Parliament.

The address signals the formal opening of the national legislature, while also setting the political tone for the year.
Zuma is expected to discuss various issues in his annual speech to the South African public - including job security, education, and unemployment - amongst others.
This will be his 10th address as President of South Africa, and comes at a time when he faces much criticismfrom the public and civil rights organisations alike - following recent scandals, including corruption allegations as tabled in the Public Protector's damning State Capture Report.
As parliamentary officials make their final preparations in the run-up to SONA 2017, Newswatch asked these locals what topics they hoped the President would address in his official SONA speech:
