DA questions rationality of SANDF soldiers to Parli

The DA says the decision by the Presidency to reinforce security through the deployment of soldiers for tomorrow's State Of the Nation Address - is far from rational.
The opposition party is in the process of seeking legal advice on the matter.
Yesterday, the presidency said President Jacob Zuma had authorised the deployment of 441 soldiers to help the police with "law and order" at the SONA.

The DA's James Selfe says members of SAPS were more than qualified to protect parliamentarians, and that soldiers are only trained in combat and war and not civilian control.
Selfe says it's no coincidence that in 2015 about 250 soldiers were deployed, and this year the number is almost double.
