Weight loss is a popular topic online. Even though social media platforms run on algorithms, at some point due to the popularity of weight transformation videos, we see this content on our feeds.

Not that we are disappointed, there is something inspiring and motivational in seeing someone push through when it comes to reaching their goal weight.

Call it our innate need to see a happy ending, or plain old waiting to see the finished product, when we get to see their smiles and their accomplishments, it's rewarding.

Now the burning question that we never really addressed with weight loss is how does the fat actually leave our bodies?

The truth behind it is that part hasn't really taken front and centre when it comes to losing weight. Because the how isn't as important as the results that we see when we lose the weight.

As usual, TikTok gave us a burning desire to learn more, and so when we saw this video of a woman revealing how the fat leaves our bodies we had to share.

In an unloaded, unprofessional, unlearned, general sense, we would think fat would leave through sweat or excrement, but this fact left out mind blown.

The woman offers up four options as to the possible ways fat leaves the body during weight loss.

A. Pee it out; B: Sweat it out; C: Breathe it out; and D: Poop it out

Which one do you think it is?

According to to Ruben Meerman, an Australian physicist and the author of 'Big Fat Myths', in an article by Very Well Fit: "When you lose weight, most of it is excreted through the exhalation of carbon dioxide. Therefore, your lungs are the primary excretory organ for weight loss."

So it is legitimate and completely bizarre in a matter-of-fact way.
