Sometimes being humble can work out for the best...

A few weeks ago, we discovered a story about an employee who gave dedicated service to Burger King for 27 years.

And after that sort of dedication, many people expected the company to gift him with something that showed some love and appreciation.

Especially considering that almost three decades of loyalty to one company says a lot about a person.

But the sad reality, as seen in a video released on social media, revealed that his service was only worth a mediocre goodie bag.

What melted many people's hearts was the intention behind sharing the video and his genuine appreciation for the company sending him something.

His intention was to remind people to always remain humble no matter what.

His daughter started a GoFundMe page and after a celebrity contribution of $5,000 from David Spade, things started to roll in...

It seemed that more than one person resonated with Kevin Ford's story and wanted to show their appreciation for this great man.

"Ford’s daughter Seryna, started a GoFundMe to give her father a proper reward." And the support has been overwhelming.

With over $350,000 (R5.7-million) currently on the page, it really goes to show that life is definitely about staying the course and remaining humble regardless.

When asked about how he felt after receiving the goodie bag,

"Ford said he was happy with the goodie bag and was grateful to have even received something because others who have worked decades at Burger King do not get anything for such achievements." (MSN)
