When alcoholic beverage companies tell us to drink responsibly, they mean it. TikTokker Cathey Autumn is one person who should have heeded that advice after she documented how a day of drinking mimosas ended with her losing her front teeth.

Cathey and her friends were attending a bottomless brunch, which gave them access to mimosas on tap. The popular drink of orange juice mixed with sparkling wine is a standard at brunch spots around the globe and a favourite of Cathey. But this time, Cathey enjoyed a little more than she could handle.

The woman documented the boozy brunch for her TikTok page before it ended with a shocking clip of herself with blood pouring from her mouth, revealing that several of her teeth were missing.

In the video, Cathey updates viewers on the group’s drinking progress where she films her and her friends after four mimosas, then six, and then seven mimosas. "This is me after four mimosas," Cathey says in the beginning of the video. As the video commences, Cathey seems to lose count of how many drinks she’s had. "This is me after I think six mimosas," she says before correcting herself with, "This is me after seven mimosas."

As the day escalates, one of her other friends can then be heard saying: “Don’t talk I’m videoing” before adding “Oh s***, she’s getting on his shoulders.”

The video then cuts to Cathey sitting in a car with her front teeth missing and her mouth bloody.

Viewers were shocked at how quickly the video escalated. “As soon as you climbed onto his shoulders I said ‘someone is definitely ending up in hospital,’” one viewer said. Another added: “As she climbed on his shoulders, every fibre of my mom’s bones were screaming nooooo!!!”

Luckily, Cathey says she is recovering well. “I’m fine. They put the teeth right back in and put glue across the whole upper row of teeth,” she wrote.

According to Healthline, while moderate consumption of alcohol can be part of a healthy lifestyle, alcohol isn’t generally considered healthy and should be enjoyed with caution. They add that that people who drink excessively tend to have higher plaque levels on their teeth and are three times as likely to experience permanent tooth loss.
