Tennessee firefighters rescue a kitten from a Pepsi vending machine

Meowing through the vending machine...

Vending machines generally contain snacks or refreshments for those on the go. 

But very rarely would you find an animal as part of the list of options when you click on the D3 button...

"Lindsay Russell, a Walmart employee, was on her lunch break Wednesday when she heard meowing coming from one of the store's vending machines, according to CNN affiliate WVLT." (CNN)

Not a sound that you would expect to hear from a vending machine...

Russell tried to rescue the kitten throughout her lunch break but unfortunately failed at all her attempts. 

"Firefighters responding to the call unplugged the vending machine and removed the back cover, but still could not see the crying kitten... Luckily, the firefighters found another opening where they could see the kitten and coaxed it out. The rescue mission took around 10 minutes." (CNN)

Phew...

Thankfully the story ended on a happy note. 

We know that firefighters are known for cat rescues and, well, cats are known for getting into sticky situations. 

It all worked out for the kitten here, but the question is: Was this little one trying to have a sip of Pepsi or just wandered into the wrong place?
