Online shopper spends close to R400k on Black Friday

Nothing shocking here, we expected online purchases to be sky-high, but spending R400,000 is close to crazy.
According to the PayFast Black Friday Cyber Monday 2022 statistics portal, the highest amount spent by an online shopper during the promotional period was R397,217.
Of course, we are eager to know what was in their shopping cart worth that amount...
The top five highest purchases spent online as of 12pm on Black Friday included appliances and electronics.
"The most number of transactions by an online shopper was 31, and the amount totalled R21,950. The average basket value amounts to R1,324, and Capitec bank is the most utilised bank." (MSN)
According to Hirsch special projects and IT manager Craig Smith, since the introduction of Black Friday a few years ago, November has surged as the crazy time of year for both retailers and consumers.
Even though many people still commit to buying in December, it is crucial for retailers to remain steadfast in their preparation over the festive season.
