With the excitement leading up to this weekend's World Cup Trophy Tour, there is definitely still a winning scent in the air.

And South Africans from all around the world have been in celebration mode all week. We have seen many videos with people sharing their Springbok love and it certainly has been adding to our pride as a nation.

But it seems that a video of another kind has grabbed our attention.

A New Zealand news reporter, Chereé Kinnear, shocked a group of Springboks fans as she was delivering her news report after South Africa's win.

As she shares the disappointing news, she hears cheering in the background and her whole demeanour shifts.

A group of Springbok fans cheer loudly behind her and stroke her shoulder in excitement, which evidently leaves her feeling uncomfortable.

But then something surprising happens...

When the South Africans notice her unhappiness, she details that they said something to her in Afrikaans that wasn't flattering.

And then she shocks them with her Afrikaans.

Chereé Kinnear revealed that she was born in South Africa and grew up in New Zealand.

And she also shared that the microphone didn't pick up what they actually said, but she wanted them to know that she understood them.

No hard feelings, Chereé, we love your heritage and appreciate your candour.
