What a world we live in...

We can hardly imagine that anyone would want to go to a healthcare facility, because no one enjoys being ill or having to visit the clinic on a regular basis, right?

More than that, transportation is always a big deal and the long queues are hardly welcomed.

It is quite disappointing then that a man who took his brother to the Reservoir Hills clinic was fined for parking on the pavement outside the clinic.

"Logan Govender said he took his brother to the Reservoir Hills Clinic regularly and was taken aback when a Durban metro police minibus stopped behind his car and officers began issuing him with a ticket for being parked on the sidewalk of a public road." (IOL)

We all know the rules of the road and, yes, there are those moments where many motorists take advantage and abuse the rules.

But some circumstances need to be taken into consideration here. For one, the driver was in the vehicle and was not obstructing anyone, and, come on, he was taking his brother to the clinic...

According to IOL, Govender said: "All the vehicles there were either (those of) patients or someone driving a patient. None of them were obstructing the flow of traffic. I thought it was in poor taste and inconsiderate. To pay R500 is just too much."

It is sad that in this day and age when people are trying more than ever to make ends meet, that they have to be punished for the lack of parking inside a government facility.
