Uh, we're not sure if that is something the police can assist with...

Dating is a place where the rules keep changing.

And we are not sure if everyone feels this way, but it seems like an unfair playing ground. One man who took it too far ended up at the police after his first date.

Of course, traditionally it has been acceptable for the man to pay for the bill on a first date. But times have changed.

There has been much contention around who is responsible for paying the bill. Some say it should be split, others believe in having turns, and some are adamant that the male should pay.

It seems this man was sticking to his guns about his feelings and took his complaint to the authorities.

"A 28-year-old man from Moscow filed a complaint against a woman he went on a date with after she refused to split the bill, leaving him to cover the entire 16,000 rubles ($165) cost." (Oddity Central)

That's around R1300.

Quite a hefty bill for a first date or any date for that matter. After he met a woman online, they decided to meet, which led to their first date.

Things seemed to be going smoothly, well that is until the waiter arrived with the bill. This is when things took an awkward turn for the worse.

"He suggested that they split the cost evenly but the woman flat out refused, claiming that he had ordered most of the food and drink, so he should be the one to pay." (Oddity Central)

"After arguing about it for a few minutes, the woman reportedly stood out and walked out of the cafe, leaving the poor man to handle it by himself." (Oddity Central)

He obviously took his anger out on her by filing a complaint at the police station against his first date.

All this talk about dating and money reminds us of that time a woman was left with a R 30,000 bill
