Zaba chats to the woman who changed a petrol attendant’s life

Yesterday, my life was changed by a simple Facebook post. 

I read the story of Megan and Henry, and how Megan has selflessly given her time and energy and love to help Henry.

Henry is an accountant from Zimbabwe, but because he couldn’t afford to pay his tuition to release his certificates, Henry is working as a petrol attendant to try make ends meet.

I went home and told my fiancé the story of Megan and Henry and how I was in awe of how pure and selfless her heart is.

Today I got the opportunity to meet Megan. She greeted me with a hug and I could tell almost immediately that she was blessed with a kind and selfless heart. 

We spoke of her friendship with Henry, and what she does for a living, and how this project has taken off and has become much bigger than what she originally anticipated.

After having raised enough money to pay off Henry’s debt, Henry’s only request was that he didn’t want all this money to go to him. 

He wanted to help other people (whether they’re South Africans or refugees) who were in a similar predicament to him. Henry wants to continue studying and obtain his Masters in Finance through Unisa but he wants to pay for it himself.

The story of Megan and Henry has truly touched my heart, and I wish Megan and Henry the best in changing the world.
