Watch: Seashell collecting turns terrifying for beachgoer
A man in China got a bit too side-tracked by the joy of collecting seashells and forgot to take his surroundings into account.
More often than not, we underestimate the power of the sea. One minute we’re having a refreshing dip in the sea and all of a sudden, a wave dumps us, or we get caught in a rip current. Never take the force of the ocean for granted. The sea is one force of nature you just don’t mess around with.

It can sweep you off your feet in ankle deep water and now a video has made the rounds showing exactly how strong and just how unpredictable the sea can be.
A video has gone viral showing a man who went to collect shells in Jinjiang City, China and suddenly found himself trapped on a reef. In seconds, massive waves can be seen crashing all around him.

Local divers and firefighters eventually dived into the choppy water to save the man from the terrifying situation.
