Watch: Joburg driver out-wits hijackers during attempted hijacking
A quick-thinking driver managed to get away from would-be hijackers unharmed this past weekend during an attempted hijacking in Morningside, Johannesburg.
Footage of four masked and armed men attempting to hijack a Johannesburg driver has been caught on CCTV cameras - and it’s terrifying.
The incident happened when the driver of the Range Rover returned from a shopping centre and drove up to a complex in Morningside, Johannesburg.

As the driver pulled up to the gates, the gang followed the vehicle through the entrance boom and four of the robbers got out of the car to approach the vehicle, with one of them pointing a gun at the driver.
Thanks to quick-thinking, the driver pushed through the iron gates as they were opening in a desperate attempt to escape the would-be hijackers, leaving them scrambling to abandon their plan and leave the scene.

TimesLive reports that the vehicle was damaged in the process, and an investigation is underway into the incident.
