Group chats can be both a blessing and a curse at the same time.

The East Coast Radio Presenters have a WhatsApp group chat which was supposed to be used for communication regarding our shows and the content that's trending. However, at times, there are a few presenters (no names mentioned) who start chucking memes around like it's payday.

If you find yourself in situations like this, breathe a sigh of relief. Altogether now. I have stumbled upon a group chat etiquette guide, according to the experts.

According to Mirror, Debrett's, which is described as 'Etiquette Training from the 250-Year-Old Authority', has teamed up with social media giant Facebook to put together the guide. The guide looks at 'what you should and shouldn't be saying in the group chat'.

Check it out below:

  • Don't send one-word messages
  • Don't send single emojis
  • Don't send multiple messages all at once - rather use one message for all your thoughts
  • Gossiping and ghosting are a no-no
  • Don't broadcast people's private info on the group
  • Reply as prompt as you can but if you can't, turn your read notifications off so it can't be seen.

Group chats are annoying as hell. It's like being crowded in a hall full of people. However, they do serve a purpose in the digital age. Mass communication is the future, so let's embrace it.

The only thing I would add to the list is that those 'Good morning' messages need to be banned. Stat. Right?
