Stomach churning parasites that may end your holiday abruptly
Updated | By Damon Beard
Warning, some of these images may be distressing. They may even put you off buying that ticket to that exotic holiday you're busy planning!

You won't believe what you can pick up when you travel?!
Brain-burying worms, flesh-eating bacteria, and microbes that short-circuit the nervous system are just some of the creepy crawlies that find their way into our bodies.
And how do these horrible parasites get into your system - well, food and drinks are a common source.
Between 2000 and 2012, 58% of international travellers returned with a stomach bug, 18% had fever-inducing infections, and 17% came back with a skin infection.
Earlier this year, a California couple returned from a trip to Maui with what they thought was a mild case of flu. However, Ben, who's a professor at a university, soon couldn't move his arm to write on the board, and he was diagnosed with rat lungworm.

Any weird and wonderful things you've come back with after travelling?
