In this week’s edition of Mentour, we discuss male and female friendships, and the codes that women have to live up to if they want to be seen as one of the boys.

Thandolwethu was joined in studio by comedian Monde Blose to discuss this.

According to a study on how women and men see opposite-sex friendships, men were more likely to see sex and romantic potential in an opposite-sex friend as a benefit (women primarily saw it as a cost).

As a result, men were also more likely than women to say that they had sex with an opposite-gender friend (22% vs. 11%).

Do you think it’s possible for a woman to be one of the boys without any romantic expectations?
