Listen: "My colleague has been bad-mouthing me behind my back"

Office gossip and bad-mouthing are expected at most organisations, but when you become a victim of it, how should you go about handling it?

No matter how much we try to distance ourselves from office gossip, it always finds a way to creep up on us when we least expect it. 

Over the years, there have been many studies conducted, workshops done, and counsellors brought in to try and rid organisations from the bad-mouthing and gossip - the main causes of office politics and general workplace conflict.

But sometimes you just have to put your head down and ignore what's going on around you. After all, you can't stop people talking about you. However, it becomes complex when you hear that a close colleague is the trouble causer in this situation. 

This is the situation that a KZN woman currently finds herself in. She discovered that a close colleague has apparently been spreading some nasty stuff about her around the office, which isn't true.
