Is it ever okay to lie to your partner?

Most people believe that honesty is the best policy when it comes to relationships, but when it comes to certain situations, should dishonesty be condoned?

Lying is not ideal, right? Not that I condone lying or anything, but let's be honest - it happens. There are many things that people choose to lie about. Some are totally uncalled for and sometimes people do it to shield others from hurt and pain.

But when is it okay to lie in a relationship? Does it matter how many people you've slept with? Yes, I think so, and it's not really a question you can just avoid because it's going to come up.

Running into your ex is inevitable unless you're lucky enough to live on different planets, but why do some people choose to hide it - especially if you live in the same area as your ex?

Guys - one of the times you might consider lying is when she asks you if you like her outfit or if 'this makes me look fat?'. Personally, just say you love it and she looks amazing because if you say anything else, you're going to be in serious trouble. Ouch!

It's probably also not a good idea to tell your partner that their best friend is really hot. That could land you in some hot water. As I said, the fact of the matter is that lying does happen and it's not something that we can hide or run away from.
