'I am Cait' reportedly gets canned

DSTV/Mulitchoice will pull Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show “I am Cait” off the bouquet in Africa, according to reports. 

Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, has a reality show focused on her transgender journey, and was pulled in Nigeria after the Nigerian broadcasting authority received several complaints about the show. And now with the show being canned in Nigeria, it affects the rest of Africa because there is only one feed for the continent.

Multichoice has confirmed that the show, which airs on channel 124, has been canned amidst concerns from customers.

In 2016, it saddens me that an organisation as large as Multichoice would be so naïve to can such a show, over a few people’s negative attitudes towards the issues of the transgender community. Could those unhappy customers not watch something else while ‘I am Cait” is on? Why must we suffer because of your ignorance?

As much as you may have your reservations about the LBGTQI community, don’t make people suffer because you are far too ignorant to accept people for who they are. Every day we preach about racism, xenophobia, and sexism, but it seems that tolerance for the LBGTQI community gets overlooked.
