Heads or tails? The debate has finally been settled

A debate started on Twitter after a user asked which side of the coin the head and tail were located, and thanks to the South African Mint, we finally know the truth.

It still baffles most of us to see how quickly things go viral on social media - especially Twitter, and all it takes is one tweet.

If you thought you knew which side is the head and which is the tail on a coin, throw all of that out the window. Twitter user @Katlego_Moncho posted a picture which sent many into a frenzy.

"So, we are having a whole debate in the office about this. 😂😂😂 Guys, which is heads, and which is tails?" the picture was captioned.

Many took to the comments to share their views, with most sure they knew which side is which.

We asked Thandolwethu to share her thoughts on the debate.

"I was sure that I knew which side was which. Since my childhood, we've been flipping coins in the air, and now I feel like my whole life has been a lie!" she said.

Thankfully, the South African Mint, the company responsible for minting coins in South Africa on behalf of the South African Reserve Bank, finally settled the debate with one tweet.

They replied to Katlego saying that the coat of arms is the head, and the animal side is the tail.

Mind. Blown!
