Is having a ‘Blesser’ the only way forward for 21st century women?

The term ‘Blesser’ has become a buzzword for anyone with deep pockets. But should 21st century women be relying on others for an income which could serve to demean and objectify them?

The blesser/blessee lifestyle has become ever so popular in South Africa.

A few weeks ago I told you about the ‘BlesserFinder’ Facebook page, where the page said it could hook you up with a blesser and end your financial woes.

The blesser trend has got so bad that quite often when I’m around my peers and their friends, they say that they don’t want to hang around men who are not blessers.

Once I tried to hook up a friend with a friend, and the immediate response was "Does he have money? I am tired of struggling while there are generous men out there".

I was watching this episode of CheckPoint on eTV, and I can’t say that I was shocked at the episode, but what does shock me is how Amanda Cele is happy to be living her entire existence off of her blesser, and seems to be doing nothing to better herself.

Amanda, what happens when your blesser moves on to another girl? What will you have to show for your life then?
