Frustrated parents go to court to evict 30-year-old son
Updated | By Damon Beard
After hours in the courtroom, a judge has ordered that 30-year-old Michael Rotondo immediately leave his parents' home after they served him with an official eviction notice.
Listen as KZN shares their view with Damon about telling their kids to move out below, or read the details under the podcast.
Living out in the real world can be tough, that's why most parents allow their children to live with them until they can stand on their own two feet.

I have a colleague who lived with his folks until he was 27, but contributed monthly to groceries, utilities, and even WiFi. But what happens when you have a child that freeloads off you and refuses to move out?
A frustrated mom and dad have been trying to get their 30-year-old son, Michael Rotondo, to move out of their home for months. He’s unemployed, doesn’t pay rent or contribute in any way around the house, and now he finds himself being evicted by his folks.
Over the past three months, the parents have given him five written notices to move out, but he has ignored all of them. He then took his parents to court to fight his case, asking for a six-month notice which allows him to vacate their premises, adding that it was outrageous that they would evict him in the first place.
The court case saw him acting in his own capacity and lasted 30 minutes. Daily Mail reports that the judge ruled in his parents' favour and that he wants to appeal the decision.

For me, can you imagine how awkward living in this house must be, for both the parents and the son? I'm not a parent, but I must add in this day and age, parents cannot afford to be looking after freeloaders - even if it's their kids. Some tough love never hurt anyone, right?
Were these parents right to do this? How did you tell your kids to leave the house?
