Calling all dads – Would you want a daddy baby shower?
If you had the option to have your own daddy baby shower, would you like to have it?
Recently, I visited some friends of mine who are expecting their first baby. Being the awesome friend I am, I asked what baby shower plans they have and the daddy-to-be said he wants a daddy baby shower!
The Daddy Baby Shower is fast becoming a trend with lots of dads not wanting to be part of the actual shower, but also wanting to be celebrated as they embark on the journey of fatherhood. Instead of baby shower games, they turn on the sports channels or whip out the PlayStation, and typically those invited bring a toy/gift - or else no free beer.
When my besties planned my baby shower, it typically involved both girls and guys. One of my closest friends is a guy and we have been friends for over 21 years now, so it was only natural that we had girls and guys at my shower.
Reign's father isn't into sport or drinking large amounts of beer, so I can't imagine he would have wanted a Daddy Baby Shower (although I must admit, he was never asked).
I also can't imagine a drunk Dad climbing into bed after a Daddy Shower is what most expectant mommies would like in their households, especially considering she is probably dying for a glass of wine or a cocktail.
