It's been a heartbreaking time for Julia who wrote in asking me to help her husband Floyd.

Floyd needed dialysis, so Julia took out medical aid at a cost R1,600 per month. The waiting period was one year, and in the mean time, Floyd was in urgent need of dialysis. To do this privately, the costs were exorbitant. Each session cost R1,200 and Floyd required at least two sessions per week.

Just to insert the line for dialysis cost R19,000, which Julia managed to pay, but the actual weekly cost of the dialysis was just completely out of Julia's reach. Julia pleaded, asking me to even find someone who could help pay for one session of dialysis, as she had to pay cash for each session until the medical aid kicked in.

Being the sole supporter in her family, Julia had used all her savings to pay for the dialysis Floyd had already had.
