Baltimore restaurant dragged over 'racist' and 'way too strict' dress code
Updated | By Thandolwethu
A restaurant in Baltimore, USA, has come under fire for their strict dress code, with some going as far to call it 'discriminatory'.
One thing I love (beside radio of course) is getting dressed up and going to a restaurant to enjoy a nice meal out. I always make sure I look my best wherever I go out. I'm always dress code ready.

Speaking of dress codes, one particular restaurant in Baltimore has come under fire before it's actual opening. A poster of its dress code has done the rounds on social media after it was on the establishment's gate.
'Brimless headgear', 'excessively bagging clothing', and 'sunglasses after dark' are just some of the things strictly prohibited at this restaurant. Check out the full list below:

While some applaud the restaurant for 'having standards', others have dragged them on social media for its dress code with some citing that it is 'racist' and even 'discriminatory'.
Here's what some had to say:
I’m not sure this is a valid defense, particularly on the backward versus forwards hat or “excessively baggy” points. What’s the rationale beyond “everyone else is doing it?”

Simple solution: don’t like it, don’t go.

Can’t wait to never come to your establishment. Would hate to waste my time there after work with my boots on, or with my bookbag walking around, or because of your ‘discretion’...course, a guy like me could probably get away with it...

I walk, bike, or ride the bus everywhere. As such, I almost always have a backpack to carry my belongings. What am I supposed to do in this situation?

this is racist as hell and I will never enter your restaurant & will actively warn others away from it, have a great day

Would respect yall more if yall just kept it real and said yall made posted these dress codes to keep us black people out

Replying to the comments shared, the establishment said, "Being new to the Fells Point neighborhood, we simply implemented the dress code standard that is used by several other properties in the area including Barcocina, Bond Street Social Moby’s and The Horse You Came In On. Have a great day," they tweeted.

My two cents: I don't really see the racism here. If a restaurant has a dress code, that means they want to allow a certain type of guest to enter their restaurant. It's their prerogative after all, right? Sure, it's a bit weird especially considering the 'sunglasses after dark' bit. What happens when a girl wants to look all fancy? Know what I mean?
