Watch the incredible rescue of a dolphin at Cape St Francis
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
Our hearts were warmed seeing the public and NSRI save a stranded dolphin.
It's so inspiring seeing people band together to help each other out. Last week I drove past the most horrific accident and felt so grateful for the work the emergency services were doing.

This story is a little different, but once again shows the warmth of humanity.
An injured, stranded bottlenose dolphin was spotted a few meters away from the Cape St Francis Lighthouse and The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) was notified. Not long after, everyone pitched in to save the dolphin.
Watch: Little boy needs rescuing from his own rescue mission
Members of the general public assisted and managed to save this beautiful animal. The little one was bathed, wrapped in towels, and released back into the ocean. Once he was safely in the water, all was well. I'm just glad for that, as too many marine animals are hurt every day.
These wonderful people of the NSRI are amazing, with their selfless efforts to help all those stranded in the water - people and animals alike.
