Ricky Gervais slams celebs moaning about quarantine
Updated | By Stacey Norman on East Coast Radio
Ricky
Gervais has hit out at celebrities for complaining about having to quarantine
and self-isolate in comfort while health workers risk their lives to battle
Covid-19.
The
comedian's comments came after singer Sam Smith, 27, broke down in tears on
Instagram because of having to self-isolate and quarantine in a £12 million
house.

In an interview with the Sun, Gervais talks about the difficult working conditions health workers are facing now. "These people are doing 14-hour shifts and not complaining. Wearing masks, and being left with sores, after risking their own health and their families’ health selflessly. But then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool. And, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it."
Similarly, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was mocked for describing lockdown life in his £4m Cornwall property as "a living nightmare".
Everyone
is having a tough time during this lockdown, but we should not forget that
there are people less fortunate than us, and the things we complain about are
sometimes not worth the talk
