Only in South Africa: Motorists turn burst water pipe into car wash
Updated | By Stacey Norman
When life gives you a burst water pipe, instead of getting it fixed, you turn it into a makeshift car wash.
I cannot believe how quickly time has flown since my move to Durban. I lived between Jozi and Cape Town all my life, but it feels like Durban has become home now for me. The transition was a bit difficult at first, but things got easier as time went by.

Then I came across this clip of something that could only happen in South Africa. A burst water pipe in Sandton quickly turned into a car wash for motorists who used it as an opportunity to give their baby a rinse down.
Motorists queued up to go through the 'car wash on the go' - with some reversing back and forward to ensure an extra clean.
I'm not advocating wasting water, however, I must admit that South Africans can really think on their feet.
