Mother rat saves its baby from being eaten by a snake
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
It's not every day that you see the rodent family defending its brood from one of their biggest threats - a snake!

No matter what pack, race, or world you belong to - once a mother, always a mother.
If you know what's best for you, you won't challenge a mother’s child. If you choose to go that route, be prepared to see the other side of the maternal comforter.
This snake thought lunch was served when it caught a rat. Unfortunately, it did not know that this time around it messed with the wrong rat.
The rat’s mother can be seen taking the snake head on by pouncing and biting its tail, causing it to let go of the little rat.
Just when it seemed like all was well, with the rat out of the snake’s mouth, another danger reared its head. This time around a car almost saw the little rat destroyed, but luckily, the mom managed to quickly snatch the rat from the road and ran off to safety.
