Melissa & Doug SA open their hearts for Toy Story cavalcade

Tomorrow bright and early I will be heading off to hospitals around KZN to hand deliver toys to the small precious children in need of some cheering up.

I know tonight will be a long night of tossing and turning as I try and mentally prepare myself for what lies ahead. 

Now being a mother of 3, sacred children this handout seems to get harder and harder. Yes of course it's all about delivering the joy, but the state of some of these children turns your stomach to ice. The reality is that for most they will never leave the four walls of the hospital and at this time of year when family is at the centre of celebrations seeing an empty chair time after time next to the little persons bed it heart breaking.

Nadine Gering from Melissa & Doug SA came on a drop off with me a few years ago and was so touched by what she saw, that ever since that day she now sends me off to the hospitals with bags full of beautiful, bright educational wooden toys. 

This year was no different and kindly donated over R26, 000.00 worth of joy.
