If you are Spending Time in Hotels you Should Know THIS!
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
What is the first thing you do when you arrive at a hotel?
If you’re like most people, you probably toss your bags down on the floor, flop onto the bed and relax for a few minutes. I take a little walk around, look out the window and then check the mini bar and get myself comfortable.
According to Jim Dill, Extension Educator at The University of Maine, this is the exact opposite of what you should do. Before enjoying your hotel room, Jim recommends that everyone check for an unexpected intruder by the name of cimex lectularius, otherwise known as “bed bugs.”
Contrary to their name, a bed is the last place you’d want to find a bed bug. These nasty little insects wreak havoc on thousands of unsuspecting slumberers each year, but you don’t have to be one of them.
This guy takes things seriously! I have never in my life checked for a bed bug and 36 years down the track I live to tell the tale.
