Lewis Duckett and Billy Jones met 46 years ago, before anyone was talking marriage equality!
Lewis and Billy were separated for years when Jones had to fight in Vietnam but continued to keep in touch through coded letters since being discovered as homosexual back in the day could get you dishonourably discharged.
Finally after many years apart they moved in together and adopted a child.
After 46 year they decided to get married.
For them, the ceremony was the culmination of a life together, not the beginning of one. “It’s an enhancement to the relationship we had,” says Jones.
