Domestic worker of 30 years wins R70-million PowerBall jackpot

A Gauteng domestic worker has hung up her cleaning gloves after winning a massive lottery - and she only spent R7,50 to win it!

At some point in our lives, we've fantasised of winning the lotto. However, if we don't play, how would we ever win it, right? 

Last Tuesday, the Powerball lottery was sitting at a staggering R70,873,741 and there was one lucky winner from Pretoria, Gauteng. Times Live reported that it was a domestic worker of 30 years who spent a mere R7,50 to win the massive taking.

The woman took the ticket at a Shell garage and used the manual selection method.

It is said that with her winnings, she wants to take her family to Cape Town, renovate her home, and buy a smartphone amongst other things. 

It was her employer that told her that she had won. She initially thought she didn't win anything. 

"The night before the draw, she says she put her ticket in the Bible a friend had given her and went on her knees and prayed to God give her a sign that soon all her troubles will be over," the publication reported.
