Do you like the person you're in love with?

It may sound strange, but it seems as if there are many couples who don't like each other but stay together anyway.

I came across an article from W24 which got me thinking - do you even like the person you’re in love with? I know it sounds bizarre, but you can be in love with someone and at the same time feel unsure as to whether you actually like them or not?

When I married Mr T, I knew one hundred percent that I loved him and knew that without a shadow of a doubt I liked him. The difference with us is that we enjoy being around each other. I love the way he makes me laugh, his smell, his look, and his personality. 

I know of countless couples that are with each other because they feel safe and secure, which is love, but there are times that I am sure they don’t actually like each other. Believe it or not, a colleague of mine recently told me about a couple who've been together for 10 years but dislike each other. They choose to stay together because of the convenience of being in a relationship and not having to find another partner.

I am of the belief that being in a relationship with someone you can't stand to be around is never going to work. I could not imagine being in a relationship, or worse a marriage, where you loathe your partner. Crazy!
