This guy tried to pull out all the stops for an epic proposal but it completely backfired...

An absolutely awkward public proposal has been shared on Instagram by @tavinewton - and it has everyone cringing after seeing it. At a recent sports game, a guy attempted to propose to his girlfriend by using dancers shaking to Bruno Mars' hit 'Marry You' (appropriate, right?).

The big finish would be if the girl said "yes", right? Well, this proposal took a turn for the worse. When he got down on one knee, she repeatedly shook her head, whispering something into his ear. She then grabbed her bag and bolted. Ouch!
Surely, if you go the whole public proposal route, you would make dead sure your lady feels the same about you?
I die for this guy, and for her as well. It couldn't have been easy having to deny this guy, leaving him to deal with a stadium of onlookers.
Apparently, according to Mirror, his seats were upgraded and he was given a few beers to soften the blow. However, this is super embarrassing. Sorry, guy.
